Services for Seniors
We understand the hurdles and obstacles you face if you find yourself older and with no family or friends to handle the loose ends and difficult tasks. Our services are designed for seniors who can still perform their personal cares but need a boost around the house. We are not a PCA agency and aren’t licensed to, for example, bathe, dress, or dispense prescription medications. We have a Home Management Services license which allows us to do housekeeping, meal preparation, and shopping. Here are some examples of how we can help:
Installing & setting up TVs, computers, printers, & wi-fi
Helping with smartphones & tablets
Setting up online services, such as automatic online bill-pay and grocery delivery
Education on internet and phone scams & fraud
Moving or assembling furniture
Hanging pictures & art
Installing drapes, blinds, & curtain rods
Light home maintenance
Replacing hard-to-reach light bulbs with efficient LED bulbs
Set-up medications that you take yourself
Act as your Attorney-in-Fact (Power-of-Attorney) or Health Care Agent
Clearing & removing clutter
Laundry in your machines
Rides for medical appointments, shopping, and errands, either in your car or ours. I can go in with you to appointments and assist you with shopping if you like.
Meal preparation & cooking
Doing dishes & other kitchen cleaning
Vacuuming and other housekeeping tasks
Respite care if you need a break caring for a loved one
Companionship & friendship - sometimes what we need most is a good conversation over a game of cards! (I’m partial to Spite and Malice!)
Other tasks you’d like done - let’s talk about it!
We can come over for a one-time project or you can set-up a regular schedule for us to stop by. Two or four hours a week? Or more? Once a year? No problem - we are flexible and don’t have minimum hours contracts. We also offer free consultations to see if we are a good fit for you.
All of our services are provided with the Minnesota Home Care Bill of Rights in mind, which outlines your rights and standards of care. If you engage our services we will provide you with a written copy of the Home Care Bill of Rights. Additionally, all staff have CPR & first aid training and are covered by liability insurance. We are professional, polite, take pride in our integrity, and love working with people!
If we work together and your needs change we can help you connect with additional services, such as home health care, Meals-on-Wheels, etc. We can send updates to family who may live far away or may not be able to visit often. If you are kinless, we understand the special difficulties and isolation you can face. We can help you stay connected with people and we can provide additional services, such as attorney-in-fact or health care agent, that would otherwise be handled by a relative.
As an Attorney-in-Fact we discuss your financial wishes and goals beforehand to ensure we make the best decisions for you. Full accounting is kept of all financial records digitally and can be printed out at any time. We do do not accept gifts, tips, or bonuses of any kind. For Health Care Directives we extensively discuss your health wishes in order to best meet your needs if the worst happens.
