Help Around the House

For people who take care of themselves but could use a boost with everything else. We do the chores that have gotten harder, and we’re good company while we’re at it.

  • Meal preparation and cooking
  • Dishes and kitchen cleanup

  • Clearing clutter
  • Moving or assembling furniture
  • Hanging pictures and window treatments
  • Light home maintenance
  • Replacing hard-to-reach light bulbs
  • Setting up medications you take yourself
  • Companionship and friendship (cards are welcome)

We can also connect you with other services, such as home health care or Meals on Wheels, and send updates to family who live far away.

What we don’t do

Rose Hill is not a personal care (PCA) agency and does not bathe, dress, or dispense prescription medications. We provide home management services such as housekeeping, meal preparation, and shopping.

Our services follow the Minnesota Home Care Bill of Rights, and every client receives a written copy.

Technology Assistance

Patient, one-on-one help with the devices you have or the ones you’re thinking about. We set things up, show you how to use them at your own pace, and come back when problems crop up. You keep a printed cheat sheet for later.

A tip from a former Elder Abuse Investigator

Do not send money, gift cards, or personal information to anyone until you have talked to someone you trust.

The Parent Check

Live out of town or too busy to check in as often as you’d like? We look in on your loved one, help around the house, and let you know how things are going.

How it works

  1. We meet

In person or by Zoom. Tell us about your parent and what would help.

  2. We visit

As often as you like. An hour or two weekly or every other week is typical.

  3. We help out

Shovel the sidewalk, take out the trash, do the dishes, and sit down for a visit.

  4. You get an update

After each visit, we send you a note with photos.

Schedules adjust over time and can grow if your parent’s needs increase.

A good place to start

A MnCHOICES Assessment is a good starting point for understanding what support your parent may need.

Matt’s years as an Elder Abuse Investigator, including joint visits with Adult Protection, mean he can give you an experienced, accurate assessment of how your parent is doing.

Getting around

Rides & Errands

Rides to medical appointments, shopping, and errands, in your car or ours. We can go in with you if you’d like.

Respite Care

Caring for a loved one at home? We can step in so you can rest, run errands, or get away for a while.

Planning ahead

Not sure what you need?

That’s what the free consultation is for. We’ll meet with you, talk through what would help, and see if we’re a good fit for each other.
